@guywalters It was more the nostalgia for me seeing Pesci,de Niro and Pacino on screen together for maybe the last time.
Can’t see me watching it again though and it was far to long!
@UNARMOUREDworld @guywalters The pub in Derby marketplace where Bonny Prince Charlie’s campaign headquarters were situated was called The George. Then changed to Mr Jorrocks. However we would gladly have changed the name of our 18thC village pub last year rather than watch it be bulldozed to build a Lidl!gill donaldson @DonaldsonGill • 23 Jan 13:39 GMT
@hesmond5 @guywalters Context is key. If it’s a local with a decent cellarman & grub. No.
If it’s a local where you can have a shotgun fired at you when eating your pork scratchings, I think it’s reasonable.
@guywalters The next question is, how does it affect the rules of Pub Cricket? If The Coach and Horses changes to the Slug and Lettuce, instead of at least 8 runs (ten if coahman present), you go "out" (with one big slimy foot).twitlifebalance @twitlifebalance • 23 Jan 12:40 GMT

@guywalters If thing has been proven, it is that no chair of Have I Got News For You ought to be entrusted with any form of public office.Sipech @TheAlethiophile • 23 Jan 10:33 GMT
@guywalters It was also a bit "wow, didnt know that actor was still alive."
Awesome soundtrack as always
@guywalters @willawells It certainly doesn't live in the memory (mine, anyway) the way the best Scorsese does. A couple of standout scenes but a fair amount of vague sludge connecting them. I get that its tone is intentionally more muted, but this doesn't really work in its favour.Ben Stephens @stephens_ben • 23 Jan 09:02 GMT
@guywalters Sooooo loooong. Took me two weeks to watch it.Dominic Stafford Uglow @Sellypaws • 23 Jan 08:26 GMT
@guywalters You know, she’d have annoyed Piers Morgan 1000X more if she’d done this tomorrow & Harry had worn the papoose, bonus points if the dog was in a stroller. For someone who hates her, he can’t seem to get enough of her, so she may as well max out his frothing outrage by this point.Vicki Wistow @VickiWistow • 21 Jan 10:19 GMT
@guywalters I think she misunderstands the concept or application of a baby carrier.Chris @HullensianChris • 21 Jan 09:51 GMT
@Edeaulx @guywalters @changeresearch Indeed it is, but I do sometimes wonder by whom.
I don’t have a very large cross section of toffs to go on, but it seems that the expectation of deference seems to be with the insecure ones & similarly, internalised classism only seems to be a huge deal with the ‘aspirational.’
@guywalters Pretty much Sunday lunch at my parents.Henry Jeffreys @HenryGJeffreys • 20 Jan 10:23 GMT
@guywalters this is true though, and more to the point: "What I found more distinct in the U.K. was the collective acquiescence—physical and psychological—to dominance by birthright."Luke Jennings @LukeJennings1 • 20 Jan 09:55 GMT
@guywalters I keep thinking about this and it’s annoying me. A. Oh we Americans are so above this and English men LOVE it, it’s not a 1994 romcom. B. If you’re that worried about social niceties surely you wouldn’t run off to a bedroom and cry and make a scene?Sarah @SarahDuggers • 20 Jan 00:10 GMT
