@2011arvyk To paraphrase from seminal scene in the the film Apocalypse Now,
"give me 300 Zarah Sultanas and our troubles here would be over very quickly"
@BrianHTweed Even a committed Socialist would be sorely tested by the flak routinely dished out by our Corporate Media & Capitalist culture.
That is not Starmer. He will move away from the manifesto & back to centrist triangulation, whilst the rest of us are expelled, diminished & strangled
@karl_trotsky @laureleccles I sense there is a gigantic scandal here that is being covered over and ignored, and has been ignored for a very long time. Would Tories and the ruling class steal elections? You bet your assNeil Rose @NeilRose12 • 28 Feb 22:56 GMT
@BrianHTweed It won't be final defeat. Tony Benn said there are no final defeats or victories. It'll be a setback
Unless Starmer surprises his backers & keeps the manifesto & pursues open selection
Then he'd get brutal attacks for positions he doesn't really support
Why would he do that?
@Grombags He can't as the names and organisations on it would be more than embarrassing. The teams and corporate support behind Starmer is enormous. If he wins the ruling class get back the Labour party and they own the political battle again.
They want to take the risk our of democracy
@medialens Juxtaposition of Kuenssberg with Assange is stark. On one side is a courtier, on the other an investigative journalist
The journalist's life is threatened, while the courtier & her entourage are honoured by the court
This used to be a subject for satire, but not anymore
@BrianHTweed RLB was right to release her funding sources. This could be awkward for Starmer
Otherwise with Starmer's victory is the Left's final defeat in the Labour party
@BrianHTweed RLB's funding is transparent and is all from ordinary Labour party members and unions
If the majority of Sir Keir's funding is from individuals & organisations outside the Labour movement, then we must ask why & in whose interests will he be leader of the Labour party?
